The new version 1.5.3 of Bricks'n'Tiles now supports the generation of Normal Maps. Normal Maps represent the relief of a surface by storing the variation of the Surface Normal as shown in the image:
You can use both maps in your 3d application to create a highly detailed surface material. Bricks'n'Tiles can create Height Maps or Bump Maps from grayscale images and then convert them to Normal Maps.
If you want to know how to create Normal Maps with Bricks'n'Tiles, you may read through section 4.1.2 of the User Manual
